A few weeks ago there was a primary activity to have an outside tour of the Denver Temple. I REALLY should have stressed the 'outside' part to Jonah, because when we got to the temple, he was very upset that we weren't going inside. It was very hot outside too, but it was interesting to go around the temple and hear some of the history and stories about it. We did go into the Distribution Center (which Jonah thought was the temple so he was happy) and we all got temple bookmarks, so everyone was happy in the end. We finished up by having a picnic lunch on the grass.
(we couldn't get to close because there were a lot of brides and we didn't want to be in the background of any wedding pictures)
(For some reason, luckily, I had all of our sunglasses in the diaper bag, which really came in handy.)
Matt didn't come to the temple activity because he had just gotten back from a scout campout to Devil's Head (which is a trail that leads to a fire tower lookout from where you can have a 360 degree view of the Rockies and Eastern Plains).
It was quite the campout apparently due to them stumbling upon a crime scene (not even joking), only getting a couple hours of sleep, and having some 'interesting' camp neighbors (or so I hear). Anyway, Matt stayed home with Tyrel because Ty had a fever, which spiked to 104.8 later that night (my thermometer said anyway, the ER check in person made it clear she thought I was making it up), so I took him to the emergency room where he got an IV, chest xray and was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia. We left the ER after 6 hours (arriving home at 3 am), to have 3 more follow up appointments with the pediatrician this week. Tyrel's pneumonia is gone now, but the pediatrician diagnosed him with asthma (he now has two oral medications to take twice a day and a nebulizer 4 times a day). Poor little guy. He will stop all that stuff in a couple weeks, but couple possibly continue to have asthma during his childhood.
On top of that, Jonah discovered that there is a lid to the toilet tank, and so therefore must be opened to see what is inside. I guess he couldn't lift it so he told Mikelle about it. There is a strict rule that two kids can't be in the bathroom at the same time, but I was cleaning up dinner and didn't know they were both in there. All of the sudden Mikelle screams "Mom, Mom, come quick, it's an emergency, help, now!!!" So I run into the bathroom to find the toilet tank leaking very fast with already about 1 inch of water flooding the bathroom floor. Apparently Mikelle tried to lift the toilet tank lid herself for her and Jonah to look inside, it was too heavy, so she dropped it into the tank and cracked it. (We have serious toilet issues, I don't think I ever disclosed the multiple toothbrushes being flushed down fiasco, but it happened also).
The kids managed to get into other things as well, like the coloring books (I think I must have blocked out the rest of the things they did, because I can't remember anything else but I KNOW there was more).
But how can you stay made at these guys?
Today we had the loudest thunder storm I have ever heard in my life. The kids weren't sure what to think and were hiding under the desk. It started hailing, so now there are these little piles of 'snow' in June.
I'm so glad this all happened this week because next week some of my family is coming down. (As a surprise to the kids, they don't know). I can't remember the last time I had such a busy, crazy week, so if you are EVER bored, be thankful for it. And if you made it all the way through this crazy long post, kudos to you!

Oh sweet Kylee! I'm so sorry you had a such a crazy week. Poor sweet Tyrel. I hope he feels better. And, who knows how long your toilet will be out of commission with the fabulous maintenance. PS you have like a million coloring books. I don't think I've ever seen so many coloring books!!! I hope next week is great with your family and I can't wait to see you next month.
Life sure can be busy! I can see the bathroom fiasco in my mind's eyes. One of our children used to love flushing whole apples down the toilet, which of course would get stuck every time. The toilet had to be taken off to remove the apple. When you have a houseful of little ones and just one bathroom, toilet problems become big really fast.
But you're right. They are too cute to stay mad. I hope that poor little Tyrel heals completely. Don't you just love medical staff who make mothers feel like they have no idea what you're talking about?!?!!
