Congratulations!

So I know not everyone knows these people, but first, my cousin Kirsten had her baby, named Benson; and then my brother Aaron got engaged to Kayla and the wedding is on July 31! We are so excited for everyone; congratulations!

Easter

I am behind in my blogging; but here it is. We had a nice Easter Sunday. Mikelle let me put curlers in her hair, and Jonah let me put his Easter outfit on. The best picture I could get of him was of him sitting down looking at my cell phone. Then Matt and the kids took the trash out and surprisingly, the Easter bunny came while they were out, and the kids had a fun time picking up their Easter candy. Then we had a bunch of friends over for Easter dinner. Also, I put pictures up of us dying Easter eggs, making chocolate nests, and the diaper cake I made for my friend's baby shower.

Dying Easter eggs for us is purely only for tradition. Everyone here hates eggs, and I think we ended up throwing the eggs away. I think we only colored 6 eggs, but the kids loved it!
I tried to see if the kids would egg their eggs, Jonah wouldn't even touch his.
Mikelle tried her egg, and really wanted to eat it because she was so excited about having dyed it, but she kept gagging and finally gave up.

Happy Easter!

All is post is really is a thank you to nursery. I have been talking to Mikelle about all the fun stuff we are doing this Easter. We went on a Easter egg hunt at the Wildlife Experience, and we are having a big Easter dinner tonight with some friends, and when Jonah wakes up, the Easter bunny will come, and then we are going to Utah....and as I was going over all these things with Mikelle, Matt said "Kylee, have you only been talking about the Easter bunny, or have you also been talking about what Easter is really about." I thought for a second and felt bad because honestly I had not mentioned Jesus to Mikelle. It had crossed my mind, but I kept putting it out thinking it was too complicated and 'not right now, probably tomorrow I would mention something about it'. Anyway, on the way home from church, Mikelle was showing me her picture she had drawn in nursery. It was a cutout of Jesus, and a cutout of the tomb. She said "Mommy, Jesus died, then he went in here (and she hid the Jesus paper doll behind the tomb) and then he came out and was alive!" I was amazed at what she had learned in nursery, and that it was possible to put it simply so even toddlers could understand. THANK YOU NURSERY TEACHERS!

*I do have all the pictures from dying Easter eggs, the hunt, and soon the dinner and easter bunny at our house coming to the blog soon!

Denver Auto Show

We went to the Denver Auto Show a few days ago. It was really fun; better than I thought it would be. We also took the light rail there, which both kids thought was the most amazing thing, and Mikelle said she did not want to go in our car anymore. I am not totally into cars, but they had some really cool ones, along with all the new ones coming out. I decided that I want a Kia Borrego instead of an Honda Odyssey, so that was somewhat helpful for the day we become rich and get a new car. The kids had a pretty okay time for the first little while, but we ran into nap time and they started going crazy. They luckily had a kids play station with a huge inflatable fire truck slide and Mikelle and Matt went on that (Jonah was too little), and then we got some yummy fried doughnuts (they were SO good!) *If you are interested in cars at all, you should do a google search on the cars pictured, they have a lot better pictures online and the some cool information about them, even I was interested in it.

Matt's favorite: The Dodge Zeo Concept
This car is the Chrysler Akino concept, which has a couch like thing for the backseat, the the steering wheel on the opposite side.
The Jeep Renegade. It is a concept car right now also, but they said it is not too far away from future Jeep models. Also, it is made out of recyclable materials, and the seats are made out of soy.
The kids and Matt with the Tonka Truck
I don't know what this car is (Matt will probably update this later), but Matt liked it.
I also don't know this car's name, but I liked how the doors went up.
The paint colors, probably one of the kids favorite parts of the show.

The Wildlife Experience

We ALL went to The Wildlife Experience yesterday, first time Matt has gone with us, and it was really fun. Here are some pictures of it.

Breaking the rules (you are not allowed to climb on the elk, but we are those people that think we are the exception, I guess.)
In the Grossology Lab, Matt liked the poop room.
How sexy is he!
The Slide:
Not the best of me, I know, but Matt put it on facebook so the damage is done already.
Once Matt and I took Jonah up, he realized he could do it by himself, so here he is, the big boy!

We just wore them out!
