Bridal Veil Falls

We decided to go up to Bridal Veil Falls today. It was so beautiful there and such a great, nice day for it. The kids loved the waterfall, but the water was a bit too cold for them.

Mikelle's First Field Trip

Mikelle had her first school field trip this week. They went to Pumpkin Land, and I was a parent helper, so I got to go with her. It's actually a really cute, fun little place. There is a big, wooden playground, and big tunnel things to crawl through, and cute little kid houses and castles and lots of farm animals to look at. Then they got to pick out a pumpkin to take home. She LOVED going there on a school bus, she was almost more excited for that than anything else. She also got invited over to a friend from her class's house after school that day (Mckell's house, there is another 'Mikelle' in her class), so it was also her first playdate with someone who I didn't know; so it was a big day for her!

Misc. Pics

So I know I usually post a lot of pictures, BUT, like I mentioned before, I am trying to take lots of pictures and post them relatively soon so Matt (in Chicago) can see them; and of course everyone else, but mostly Matt right now :)

The kids on the day of the primary sacrament program
Mikelle on crazy hat day at school
The HUGE spider Aaron and the kids found in the backyard

Jonah's witch hat he made at school (he is making a scary face here)

Tyrel
(it is SO hard to take this kids picture, I did get this pretty okay one...)
...but mostly this is what I got.
group hug
walking with grandpa
the view from my parent's backyard
*Just thought I would also note that it has been 3 weeks today since Matt left for Chicago, only 9 more until he is back!

Halloween Cruise

We went on a little Halloween cruise on the Provo river on Friday night. It was pretty fun. They had real hand carved jack-o-lanterns all along the banks of the river and lights strung up overhead. A pirate came and "attacked" our boat and our captain told a scary (not really, because it is very kid friendly) story. It was a fun and unique Halloween thing to do I thought. They have a Christmas cruise too, so we may do it again; if it's not freezing cold.

Orem Fire Station Event

The Orem Fire Station had a really fun event going on this week. They had free cotton candy and popcorn, and pencils and fireman hats, ect. There was a propane tree demonstration where they had this HUGE HUGE fire and the firemen demonstrated how they put fires out. It seriously probably 2 stories high and so hot, even from how far away the audience was. Tyrel didn't really like it, I think it scared him, and Jonah was interested but when we saw some little fire torches at the Halloween cruise, he was freaking out saying that he didn't want them to get big like the other fire. Mikelle liked it though. You could spray the fireman hoses and we saw a helicopter take off, which was actually really cool and Tyrel LOVED it. He was talking about the helicopter all night. They also had a demonstration with wrecked cars where they took off the car doors using the jaws of life and other tools, and Mikelle turned around while they were doing it and said "Mom, are you seeing this!" It was cute. We had a fun time.

When we were walking back to our car, they did the propane tree fire demo thing again. We were about a block away when I took this picture, the fire was huge! They were also demoing the new water hose thing to put fires out that sprays off from the ladder.
