Snow Storm En Route to Utah

We encountered a large snow storm on the way to Utah. Well, it wasn't really snowing anymore, but there was still lots of snow on the road. As you can tell from some of the pictures the traffic going to other direction was really bad. Mikelle and Jonah were pretty ideal on the way there--Jonah cried for about the last 45 minutes. It was close to ideal. On the way to Colorado when we moved there Jonah cried for about five hours. And Mikelle cried to when we moved. She was a little angel on the way there, even telling us to stop the car when she needed to go pee (which she always does in the toilet now, unlike Boston, who decided he "want to pee in my pants" last night :) That was funny.

We encountered the bad snow in Vail. There rest of the way it was smooth sailing.

Hi, Kylee here, I wanted to add that it was very crowed in the car.  The trunk would only close when extreme pressure was placed upon it, the passenger side of the car was filled up with 'Matt's toys' (making it so I had to sit in the back) and the back seats foot space was filled up so I had to sit indian style the whole ride.  We are so happy to be here!

New Record

So Denver hit a new temperature record.  I haven't checked Utah's weather yet, but I hope it is warmer than -19 degrees.

Winter Wonderlights and the ward Christmas party

So the Wildlife Experience had a Christmas event called Winter Wonderlights.  They had lights and decorations all around outside, live reindeer, elves, and of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus.  It was pretty fun, but very cold.  We went with our friends, Mike and Joy White.

So, Mikelle is scared of Santa.  After watching ALL the other kids sit on his lap, she finally mustered up the courage to get close to him and whisper that she wants "a Dora room" like one one we saw in the avon magazine for Christmas.

Their cute Christmas shirts.

Jonah apparently doesn't like Santa either.
Mikelle again, maybe next year Santa.

Okay, so sorry, we copied everyone, but we had to do
our own elf dance.

Snow Day

Here are the kids playing in the snow, aren't they cute!  It has snowed off and on lately and so we had to play in the snow and build a snowman (a "tiny, baby snowman").  It is from two different days:

We tried to get as close to "A Christmas Story" as possible.

This is the deepest the snow has been this year.

Ready to GO!

Jonah was sitting on the counter while I was making spaghetti one night, and I was chopping up a green pepper, and he grabbed some of it and started to eat it.  Surprising, he liked it and ate all that he took.  (He also ate all his green beans for dinner, which might not seem like a big deal, but for the past month he as only eaten different types of crackers...seriously, a whole month or longer....so this was a very big deal to me).

Grandma Dell

As mentioned, Matt's mom came for Thanksgiving and stayed for two weeks, we had so much fun!  Mikelle, Jonah and grandma made home made chicken nuggets for dinner one night, and they were so good.  We went to the Denver aquarium, the Butterfly Pavilion (auntie Paula came along too), and The Wildlife Experience.  We obviously had Thanksgiving dinner and stayed up late playing the Wii.  She spoiled us rotten.  We won't know what to do after Christmas because first my mom came, then Matt's mom, then we are going to Utah for Christmas, then . . . we don't know, but things will certainly slow down.  The Butterfly Pavilion is like a bug/animal place.  We got to hold a tarantula named Rosie, we got to touch a starfish and a horseshoe crab.  Then we went into a huge heated room called the Tropical Conservatory, where there was about 1,000 butterflies flying around everywhere that you can watch, and sometimes if you are still, they land on you.  The Wildlife Experience is an animal/habitat/educational museum.  They had an exhibit called the Grossology lab.  It focused one the gross side of nature, like slime makers, vomit munchers, blood suckers, different animal poop and other gross stuff. The different stations were so funny.  One of them was about tape worms, and it had a fake toilet with poop inside and Mikelle and Jonah thought that was the coolest thing in the world.  Then there was a smelling station were you squeezed a bottle and had to tell what scent it was, like skunk, fox urine, deer droppings, etc.  and that was apparently really funny to Mikelle.  We had a lot of fun, and I am probably leaving a lot out because I am really tired right now and can't remember everything, but thanks for the great fun Grandma Ardell!!!  (sorry, there were so many cute pictures that I put them in a slide show).
P.S. I asked Mikelle what she wanted for Christmas, she said, "a Dora trash can, and a pet shark and elephant."

The Latest...

I LOVE CUPCAKES!!!

So we have been busy, we had so much fun with Grandma 'Del' and I will post about that later, I am just waiting to get all the pictures from the stuff we did.  Anyways, Mikelle is growing up.  First, she found a penny on the ground and grandma told her she could make a wish; grandma said "what do you wish for?" and Mikelle said, "money", so it was just kind of funny that she was sitting in her carseat and dropped her penny, she was reaching everywhere and she pulled out a quarter, I guess her wish came true.  Then she came up to me the other day and said "mom, we are best friends", SO CUTE!!!  Anyways, Matt is in his last few days of finals, we finally put up our Christmas tree and pretty soon we are heading to UTAH!  So, here are a few good pictures:

Jonah loves to stand against the dryer when it is on.

This video is so funny, we had some extra whipped cream from Thankgiving, and I let the kids finish it off, they had a lot of fun!
