Memorial Day at Jackson Creek

For Memorial Day, we went up to Jackson's Creek (which is almost in Pike's National Forest) with some friends and had a campfire and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. We had no idea it was here and we have lived in Castle Rock almost 2 years now. It was a beautiful drive up to Jackson's Creek and I think I am becoming more and more a country girl (as long as there is still any shopping/dining/entertainment I want within 10 minutes drive). It was a lot of fun and nice to have a 'camping experience' but still get to come home, give the kids a bath and sleep in our own beds. The kids were so excited to go and loved running around in "the forest." We can't wait to go up again!

After we started the fire, Tyrel was so interested in it, he kept pointing at it and yelling

Mikelle ate 2 whole hot dogs

too many marshmallows

Tyrel fell down and did not like having dirt on his hands

On the way up, we saw some llamas
A picture on the way home of what Castle Rock looks like close to where we live, in case anyone is interested (don't worry, I wasn't driving and taking the picture at the same time)
