Check ups

Yesterday, Mikelle had her 5 year old check up and Tyrel had his 18 month check up. Mikelle had to get 4 shots for Kindergarten and Tyrel had to get 1 shot. Tyrel barely even reacted (although he did have just one), but Mikelle freaked out and was screaming and moving her body so much I thought for sure everyone in the whole office could hear her and I wondered if the nurse had ever seen such a reaction. We ended the doctor appointment with a long trip to McDonalds playplace. So here are the kids' stats:

Mikelle:
Weight: 32.7 lbs (6th percentile)
Height: 40.5 inches (11th percentile)

Tyrel:
Weight: 27.6 lbs (71st percentile)
Height: 34 inches (91st percentile)
Head: 19.5 inches (90th percentile)

As you can see there is quite a difference in the two kids.

See, my Dad did have black hair at one time

I love this picture. I took it on our California trip in July 2010.

Tyrel is 18 months old!

Today Tyrel is officially 18 months old; which also means he can go to nursery (for normal kids, we have been unofficially sticking Tyrel in nursery for a month now, ever since the ward split and people didn't know us), but now it is legal! Tyrel is my good little baby. He eats very well, as you may notice. I love feeding him because he will just eat whatever I give him. He sleeps really well. He takes a 3-4 hour nap, and sleeps about 11 hours straight at night (unless he is teething, which he currently is, then he wakes up screaming at about 3 am). He LOVES Mikelle and Jonah and wants to do everything they are doing. He has to be a big kid like them. He loves going outside, going on the slide all by himself and swinging. He has a bit of a mischievous side to him. He loves to bug and tease people as well. For example: Running up and randomly smacking Jonah in the face, bending all the blinds, throwing his food off the table; just to name a few. He is still a mommy's boy, but does get very excited to see Matt, so I am a little afraid he might switch over, at least I still have Jonah for a mommy's boy if that happens. He still doesn't say a single word (actually he used to say 2 words, but now he doesn't say those, so it appears he is moving backwards), but he does know several sign language signs like milk, more, hurt, apple, all done.

Some of his favorites:
Food: bananas, pasta, hot dogs, pickles, ice cream, cereal
Things: His blanket, pillow, and stuffed puppy in his crib
Drink: Milk of course, and he is constantly flashing me the sign for milk

Tyrel also has a sweet tooth (like most kids I assume) and loves all sorts of candy and desserts. He likes to try on all the shoes at the door, and when we get the dress up clothes out, he is in heaven. He is starting to like coloring, but still eats the crayons sometimes. He loves to get all the pots and pans out of the kitchen and hide them all over the house. He likes to do dare devil type stuff. He will climb on top of the bunk bed and teeter over the edge and yell till he gets my attention and just laugh at me when I get him down, then he does it again. Actually, he loves climbing on everything and I've given up trying to stop him. He has his 18 month doctor appointment on Friday, so I will put up his stats then.

These are some pictures I took at the park. 18 month olds are very hard to photograph and very unwilling to cooperate, this is the best I could do:

Happy Valentine's Day 2011

Apparently I have been going through a Shirley Temple phase with Mikelle, because I love doing her hair all curly like this and she actually sits and lets me curl it.

This picture was taken before church, she was trying to keep her eyes open for the picture, I think she over shot it a little bit, but still cute!
Tyrel before church, sorry, Jonah refused to have his picture taken; where as Tyrel only sort of refused as you can see.
This was taken today (Valentine's Day) right before Mikelle left for her Valentine's Day party at preschool, I told Mikelle to stand by the wall so I could take her picture and Tyrel ran up and wanted to be in the picture too.
The one with ALL THREE KIDS
Mikelle with all her curls, the lighting is a little weird so her hair actually looks a lot blonder than it really is
Tyrel kept standing by the wall and yelling "aaaaaaaaaa" and pointing at me; I think he wanted his own pictures, so here they are

Just a random picture of the kids I thought was cute

Arabian Nights

Our church did a huge stake dance with the theme 'Arabian Nights.' It was awesome. I have never seen any church activity decorated so detailed and beautiful. They probably spent more time decorating for that dance than it took time to decorate for my wedding reception. It was beautiful, (not to say my reception wasn't, it was also beautiful, thanks family!). There was a live band, dancing of course, and a yummy dinner. We also got to hang out with a bunch of our friends, in our new ward and from our old ward that was just split; AND no one had their kids with them. We had a babysitter for 4 hours to enjoy the dinner and dancing at the church. I tried to take some pictures of the decorated cultural hall, but I only had Matt's phone and it was dark and blurry and definitely didn't do it justice. None the less, we did get some pictures, and they were taking professional pictures (for free of course) that we had taken. It was a fun night, and I heard they do this annually, so I am already excited for next year.

Happy 5th Birthday Mikelle

Today Mikelle is 5 years old. I can't believe how fast its gone and how old she seems. I love to listen to her talking to her little friends and how they respond to each other, it always makes me smile. Mikelle is in the middle of her preschool year and LOVES it. She will start Kindergarten in the fall. She has been so excited for her birthday, that yesterday, she repeatedly told Matt and I that {tomorrow} she will be a whole hand {five fingers old}. We had to wake her up really early to take Matt to work so we could have the car, but she woke up with a huge smile on her face and proclaimed "I am FIVE now."

Her Favorite:
Movie: Tangled and the Princess and the Frog
Book: The Spongebob is Sick book, all Fancy Nancy books, all Pinkalicious books
Color: Pink and Purple
Dinner: taco meat, noodles
Dessert: cake
Snack: apples with caramel and yogurt
Toy: Barbies
Thing to do: swimming

Mikelle's 5th Birthday Party

Mikelle had her 5th birthday party on Saturday. She wanted a Tangled party. We colored Tangled coloring pages, decorated Rapunzel's crown, and I found long blonde wigs at the dollar store, so each girl got her own Rapunzel wig too (the wigs were of course dollar store quality and looked more silly/creepy, but it was still fun.) We played games and had a pizza lunch and Mikelle requested Tangled cupcakes and a Tangled cake. I think it was a pretty fun party.

This is what Jonah did almost the entire party; just sit at the computer playing games.

Cute little Ava left her crown and wig on for the entire party, even when all the other girls took their's off
Hit Flynn Rider with a frying pan game (you'll understand if you've seen the movie)

Mikelle got a Flynn Rider doll to go with the Rapunzel doll she got for Christmas
