Thanksgiving and Black Friday

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone a few days ago, sorry I am late, our Thanksgiving was awesome!  Matt's mom Ardell was here, and we cooked all day on Wednesday, and had a bunch of friends over who all cooked some stuff too and it was an amazing Thanksgiving dinner.  Then we went to Elizabeth to visit Matt's aunt and uncle.  Then on Friday, Matt woke up at 4am to wait in line to get an XBOX.  He turned it on and started playing geometry wars; and oh the memories of Wyview and the Vincents (we miss you guys).  I used to be so into the Black Friday shopping, but with two kids this year, and Jonah getting five teeth in, I am getting no sleep and had no desire to go this year; I didn't even look at the adds because I didn't want to want something. Then last night it snowed a ton here, which was really exciting to me for some reason.  So, all in all, it was a really fun Thanksgiving and I glad we got to spend it with Ardell and some of our friends.

I don't really like to post pictures of myself, so this one is for you Tiffany (who said I needed to put more picture of me up).  This is a birthday shirt from Matt.
Every time I tried to fold this blanket, they kept running over and laying on it, I finally gave up... I think it is still on the floor.
Mikelle made this necklace, she is very proud of it.
Matching Hats
Sharing a drink with Daddy
Jonah when he was sick, doesn't he look so sad.  (He is better now)
Mikelle did this with her hair, came up to me and said, "Mom, look at me, I am so silly, take a picture."
Jonah LOVES to brush my hair.

Matt is picking his mom up from the airport right now.  We are all excited to see her, it is not very often that we do.  I am getting excited for Thanksgiving (yes, I am one of those people who get excited and celebrate every holiday, even St. Patrick's Day).  I am very sad to be having my first Thanksgiving away from home, but I am also excited to start new family traditions, and have Ardell here.  It will be fun, wish me luck for my first time cooking a turkey.  Anyway, now onto the kids because that is what I really blog about; Mikelle has learned the word accident.  She says it all the time:  "Mom, I hit Jonah, but it was an accident, I don't have to go in time out", or "Mom, I colored on the table", or "threw my food on the floor...but it was an accident."  She has the cutest, sweetest little voice, it is hard to not go with it. Then she goes on to say "You're not mad at me mom?  Are you nice at me?"  So she can pretty much get away with anything now....if it's an "accident".  Jonah is doing pretty good, he is getting in a lot of teeth so he hasn't ate or sleep in a few weeks, but I think we are on the down side now.  Matt's last day of criminal something class was TODAY, and that semester went by fast, only five more to go.

The First Snow

We woke up this morning to the first snow of the season.  Although I was really enjoying the 70 degree weather, I was actually excited, and the kids thought it was so cool.  Mikelle wanted to go and build a snowman, but as you can tell there was hardly any snow, and by the time we finished breakfast, it was almost melted.
Also, here are a funny few things that the kids did.  We had stake conference a few Sundays ago, and while we were driving to church, I thought I should prep Mikelle that she was not going to nursery and we were going to a different church (I should have clarified church building to her) because she said "I want to go to A Bug's Life church mom",  (can you tell what she's been watching lately).  Then, Mikelle and Jonah were playing in their room, and I heard Mikelle start laughing really loud and say "Jonah, you look so so so so funny", (she always emphasizes with a lot of so's), so I went in to see what they were doing, and she had got the desitin, and wiped it all over her face and hands and all over Jonah's face, and they were just in there laughing.

Happy Birthday to ME

The BIG 24

Okay, so I don't want to be self proclaiming, but it was my birthday yesterday, and I wanted to post pictures of what I did.  I took the kids to the Denver Aquarium, it was really fun.  Jonah loved the sharks and Mikelle had so much fun until she wanted a drink and we had accidently left it in the car, so she cried for the last 15 minutes or so, but really, it turned out good for me taking the kids by myself.  It was also a really good time to go, middle of the day and week, so there was hardly anyone there, so I could put Jonah down and let him just walk around. There was a lot of really cool things, there was a flash flood room where there is a big glass wall, and when the flash flood comes, water comes pouring over the glass wall; the kids got wet, I tried to take pictures of it, but they both started screaming, so I just got a picture of right before.  Then there was was a sting ray touch tank where the kids could touch a sting ray,  Mikelle almost got to, but then Jonah splashed water in her face and she was mad.  It was a fun birthday, thanks to everyone who called and sent emails.

Shake Your Booty

So, we were driving home from the park the other day and the song Shake your Booty came on and it is Mikelle's new favorite song.  She was dancing to it in her carseat, trying to shake as much as possible while in her restraining straps.  Anyway, it was so cute, I didn't even know she knew what a booty was, or how she learned it, but I asked her "What's a booty Mikelle?"  and she said "A booty is your bum, mom" while pointing one finger to her bum.  How do kids pick up on these things, she is with me all the time, and it is not like they sing this song on Barney.  So she asks to hear the song all the time and she sings it so cute, it is also really cute to see her really trying hard to seriously shake her booty.

Halloween Costumes, sorry about the delay

Okay, so I will finally post pictures of the kids in Halloween costumes, along with our Halloween parties, and sorry it took me so long, but my computer is broken and in the apple store right now, so I had to wait to use Matt's computer that he takes to school, and by the time he gets home, he either has to use it, or I am too tired, so sorry.  Also, it seems like a lot has happened even though really it has only been a week or so since I last posted.  I will start with Halloween.  Here are the kiddos:

And, check out these heels:

And since there are so many pictures of them trunk or treating and playing games at the ward party, trick or treating at Chatfield High School, and having fun at our Halloween party, I am going to put them in a slide show.

So, Matt has been busy, he sprained his ankle playing basketball and it is about twice the size of his other ankle, is looks pretty bad.  I also wanted to post one last picture of Jonah, Matt got the kids in the tub for me tonight, and this is how he did it; (his explanation: "he just really wanted to get in.")
