Bird Glider

Hey, so my brothers and their friends are quite talented at making little movies.  They are pretty funny.  Anyway, this is one of their movies, and make sure you click to watch it in high quality, (it is the russwart productions one).

The Kids

So Jonah is quite the little walker, he started out like a pro.  I remember when Mikelle started walking she would walk really slow and have both arms way up to steady herself, but Jonah is practically running.
We are doing pretty good here in Colorado.  Mikelle has a pretty good vocabulary, her new thing is whenever I say "Mikelle, what are you doing", she says "nothing mom".  Jonah walked up to her the other day and it looked like he was trying to give her a hug, but I really think he was trying to push her out of the way, but I said, "oh, Mikelle, Jonah gave you a hug", and she said "Jonah loves me".  It was pretty cute.  Mikelle also locked herself in my and Matt's bedroom the other day, she was in there for about 20 minutes, we kept trying to explain how to unlock the door, but she just kept saying "too hard".  Finally, we luckily had left a screwdriver out in the kitchen and Matt had to take the door knob off.  I am glad Mikelle stayed pretty calm through the whole thing, and fortunately we had left a lamp on so it wasn't pitch dark in there.  She just laid on the floor and looked at us from under the door.  Now she goes around saying "don't lock doors."
We live on the third floor, and I love it and hate it.  It is so hard to get up three floors with two kids and usually lots of groceries or whatever we have.  It takes FOREVER to get up all the stairs and usually the kids are both screaming by the time we reach our door.  I always make Mikelle walk up the stairs because my hands are usually full, and the other day, I was kind of tapping her bum with my knee and saying "hurry, go faster" and she turned around and said, "no pushing mommy, go in time out."  Our mailbox is also about 2 blocks away from our apartment.  It's not too bad walking there when I put the kids in the stroller, but one day I decided to let Mikelle walk and I carried Jonah; it took 40 minutes to walk there, get the mail, and walk back upstairs to our apartment.  I think I will start driving there when  it snows.
So all-in-all we like it here.  The kids are doing pretty well.  I am very excited for Thursday because our lights are coming.  Apparently in apartments outside of Utah, they don't come with ceiling lights, so it has been kind of dark here when the sun goes down.  So, after Thursday, the kids can finally play in their room with the light on.

Settling In

              We missed Daddy!

                Our apartments

              First day of law school

So we are settling in pretty well.  Mikelle talks on her play phone to about everyone we know in Utah, and I'm serious about everyone, I think she is wondering now why we haven't see them for awhile.  We bought her a potty training toilet tonight and I was planning to start tomorrow, but she was so excited, she has already peed on it three times.  She wanted to go on it so much that she finally sat on it once and said " no pee, too hard", we told her that's because she has no pee left right now.  I am hoping that she catches on really fast.  Jonah is also walking now.  He thinks he is the stuff.  He walks mostly but still crawls a little.  He also said his first word, "MAMA" of course, although I don't think he knows it's a word, I think he is just repeating what we say. He is also getting a molar in and has been sleeping horribly, so I hope that ends soon.  Matt finished his first week of law school, he spent 70 hours there this week.  I am already sick of it. I haven't been up to much besides trying to keep the kids busy and keeping Mikelle from watching Caillou all day long, which is her new obsession.
Anyway, we all love it here.  There is a lot to do and the kids have seemed to adjust very well.  There are a lot of really cool parks here and lakes and rivers and the kids love playing in the water.  The pictures are from Redstone Park and the Platte river.  There are also awesome thunder and lightning storms and the kids love thunder now.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT

I told Mikelle to give me a really big smile, and this is what she did

She fell asleep like this watching tv, she rarely does this

AT THE POOL

Thanks for the presents Grandma Cheryl

Hey, so Matt has been going to orientation all this week and starts school on Monday, and today is Matt's 26th birthday.  We are having a party tonight with tacos and ice cream cake .  The kids are doing great, Mikelle has started sleeping in her "big girl bed" now.  We put her in bed and tried making her cry it out, and the next night, Matt just went in and told her he would be really proud of her if she stayed in her bed the whole night, and she has since then, who would've thought of just asking her?  Jonah is also sleeping in his crib, so for the first time ever, they are sleeping the whole night through in the same room, it's a miracle.  We are trying to keep busy, and the kids seem to like it here. Here are some recent pictures of what we have been up to.

New Apartment

Hey, so we moved to Colorado.  We are pretty much completely unpacked.  I think the kids like it here, but are wondering where we are.  We really MISS our Utah family and friends but are adjusting.  Here are a few pictures; one of our first dinner (frozen pizza), and one of Mikelle.  We are trying to get her to skip her afternoon nap, but she has been really tired since we moved, I think cause there has been so much going on, but anyway, she fell asleep sitting up and kept tipping over.  It was funny.  Also, it has been really nice having Matt around since neither of us work right now and he hasn't started school yet; however, he starts next week, so we won't see him for the next three years.
