Museum of Ancient life

Back to Thanksgiving Point for the $2 Tuesday; even though it was so crowded last week we couldn't stay away.  We went to the Museum of Ancient Life.

Digging for dinosaur bones...it was ridiculously crowded.

Manilla Creek Pond

I just discovered this little swim beach in Pleasant Grove called Manilla Creek Pond.  It's somewhere in the middle of our house and my parent's house.  The kids really liked it and it was pretty relaxing to just sit in a chair in the sun and watch them for the afternoon.  It's the last week of summer vacation so the plan is to try and do something fun everyday before school starts.  We are also staying at my parent's house for the week because Matt, Aaron, and my Dad are all gone on a kayaking/canoeing trip.  It's been like Christmas for the kids to SLEEP at Grandma's house for the week, and once they go to bed, the girl's have power over the tv so we've been having a Jane Austen movie marathon.

Staying at Grandma's house means being able to wake Mike up every morning!

This is where I found Tyrel in the middle of the night (under Rachel's bed)

Mikelle wrote a letter (drew a picture) to the Disney Princesses and is hoping to get a response in the mail sometime.

My Grandpa is been in town a lot lately because his brother is in the hospital having surgery for cancer.    Sad circumstances but we're happy to spend the time with him.

Nothing like a bowl of ice cream and a movie on a hot summer day

Matt's 30th Bday Party

Matt turns 30 today (August 16th), but since he was scheduled for a kayaking trip, we did his birthday party a week early.

Farm Country Thanksgiving Point

Every Tuesday in August is $2 day at Thanksgiving Point.  Normally it's a little pricy (I think) so we decided to take advantage of this, and so did every other family in Utah county.  It was beyond crowded and I dare say not worth it; I'd rather pay the normal price and have it not crowded....but the kids had fun.

The Dance Hall

The kids were so hot, I think it was almost 100 degrees.

They really wanted to go on the pony ride, but this was the line.  Someone said it took 2 hours to get through.  Needless to say, we didn't go.

The kids playing outside, I'll miss these days where they hold hands and run together
