Kenzlee Alexandra Duff

I went in to be induced on January 9th, 2013.  Kenzlee was due on January 12, and we picked the 9th because Mikelle was born on February 9th, and the boys were both born on the 23rd (Jonah July 23rd, and Tyrel August 23rd).  The whole labor and delivery lasted about 5 hours which was awesome.  They started the pitocin at about 7:30 a.m. and a few hours later I started to have pretty bad contractions so I asked for the epideral.  If I could do one thing different I would have asked for that sooner.  I was dilated to a '10' when I got the epideral which was the same thing that happened with Jonah.  When I would think back about Jonah being born, I would think 'I should have just not gotten the epideral since I made it all the way to a 10 and just pushed him out so I could have gone natural one time; but the same thing happened with Kenzlee and in the moment I didn't care if the epideral only worked for 5 minutes of pain, I wanted it no matter what.  So I had the epideral working for about 15 minutes (while we were waiting for the doctor to get there and for my 'ONE' push).  Dr. Young was supposed to come in and break my water and deliver but he was in surgery and no one expected me to go as quickly as I did, so they had to call in Dr. Parker from his office and he had to quickly drive down to the hospital to deliver.  And yes, I only did one push and she was out.  It was awesome.  The epideral was working at the perfect level to take the pain away but I could still move my legs and completely feel her coming out.  She was born with a lot of dark hair (which was so fun because all the other kids were bald), and everything went perfectly. She was born at 1:22 p.m., she weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz., 19 inches long.  She was born in Orem, Utah at the Timpanogos Regional Hospital.

We wanted to name her a name with 'Ken' in it after my Dad, and we were deciding between Kenzie and Kenzlee.  We decided Kenzlee because of the 'lee' in the name, which is Matt's middle name, and a family name on both of our sides; and all the kids voted for Kenzlee.  We decided Alexandra because the kids had all picked it and agreed on it and Matt's brother's name is Alexander.  It was a hard decision.  Tyrel REALLY wanted to name her Babbly, and called her that for most of the pregnancy.  It may be a nickname, he told us he will call her 'Babbly' no matter what we name her.

First time getting her hair washed.  She loved having the warm water running over her head.

All nice and clean with her first hair bow.
