The Kids Room

Matt and I got really tired (literally) of having Tyrel's crib in our room. It was about 1 foot from our bed and whenever he would wake up; he would just stand there and cry. It was hard to let him cry it out because 1) he was screaming a foot away from our heads and 2) he could see us, so he wasn't giving up anytime soon. When we wanted to go to bed, we had to sneak into our own bedroom and quietly brush our teeth in the dark so he wouldn't wake up. We came up with a couple different solutions, and decided to move Ty's crib into Mikelle and Jonah's room. This of course was a little scary because we were afraid of one of them waking up, crying, and then waking up the others so we would then have 3 crying kids in the middle of the night. We risked it anyway and it has been AWESOME! They have all been sleeping through the whole night without waking up, and for some reason they have been going to bed earlier and sleeping in longer.

When my brother in law was in school, he had all four of their kids sleeping in one room. They said it worked out great and the kids loved it.

Isn't it amazing how with smaller kids, so much more fits into a room, then when you're an adult? :) Enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts!
