I am a Child of God

This is so cute, I have been trying to get this recorded for awhile.

I like the part where she says "with parents kind of dear."

The Blizzard

So this is a little bit of late news, but we had a huge blizzard last week. It was actually kind of fun because we have had a really warm winter with hardly any snow, and then it snowed about 7 inches I would guess. So, it was kind of like the best of both worlds, because we got the 60-70 degree weather for awhile, then we got some moisture with the big snowstorm. The weather people said that since it was so big, this winter will average out like all the other winters, except that instead of having little snow storms all winter, we had warm weather, than one big snowstorm, which I much prefer. Anyway, here are the blizzard pictures. Then the kids playing in the snow. Then the kids with the squirt guns we got them (I know, weird seasonal timing, but they loved shooting the snow.....and each other). Then, my cousin Tiffany had her fourth baby yesterday, and although most of you don't know her, here is her cute baby boy; Maddux:

So when it started snowing, it looked like this:
Then, the wind started blowing, and it looked like this:
Then it got SERIOUSLY windy, and it looked like someone just hung a white sheet up on the balcony. You really could barely make out the apartment buildings just across the street. It was CRAZY!
This weather did NOT stop Matt from BBQing. He braved it out there (notice the pure white background of windy snow). The kids begged and begged to go outside and I kept telling them no, it was too cold and they would hate it out there, and they just kept begging, so I put their coats and shoes on and let them out. I ran to get the camera to take a picture of the three crazy people, but like I said, the kids did not like it out there, and in those few seconds of getting the camera, they were crying to come in. So that is why they look so sad:
This is what it looked like the next morning:
Daddy and Mikelle heading down to play in the snow:
Jonah:
The snow was too hard and crunchy and deep and the kids couldn't walk in it; this is how far they made it off the sidewalk:
Mikelle and Jonah LOVE eating snow:

The squirt guns:
I love how you can see Jonah getting sprayed with the water from Mikelle's gun:
And, baby Maddux; acutally made me a little anxious to have my baby, (I know that sounds like I am not excited, I am, but I am too busy to be counting down like a first time mom)
So Cute!!!

Happy Spring Break

So, officially it is Matt's spring break now! We partied it up by going to a ward dinner party and then stopping by the grocery store and letting everyone individually pick out an ice cream treat to eat while we watched Lion King (Mikelle's new favorite, sorry Aladdin, you are OUT). It was fun to have our own treats and see what the kids picked, although I guided them (like they need a whole gallon). We told them to pick any of the little Ben and Jerry's that are $1.00. Matt got Breyer's Rocky Road, I got Mrs. Field's chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches, Mikelle picked out the B&J cookie dough, and Jonah got the B&J mint chocolate chip. They were so cute eating it. I kind of started doing something and forgot they were at the table eating ice cream and since they were so quiet, they got away with eating a lot more than I would have let. Mikelle almost finished her's off and then got down from her chair and said "that's enough ice cream for me." Anyway, it was a fun spring break kick off.

Also, Jonah has become attached to this little seal. He has been carrying it everywhere. It has to go on walks and to the store. He love when I put it in his jacket pocket. Anyway, he put it in their little shopping cart and it looked so cute because it was so small in there.
(I told him to give the seal a kiss and he put it in his mouth and walked around with it like that)

Matt did Jonah's hair with a part, and it was pretty cute. He loved checking himself out in the mirror.

I found them like this. Jonah climbed in the baby cradle and Mikelle grabbed a book and started reading it to him. How cute!

I told Mikelle to go get dressed, and this is what she picked out.

Silence is Deadly

I think we have all heard that when the kids are quiet, there is trouble. Definitely the case with my kids. As you may have read with the flour incident, in just a few moments of silence, total and complete chaos and destruction is being made in a quiet little corner somewhere. Yesterday, Matt and I were working on the dishes together while the kids were playing in the living room. Neither of us noticed that somehow the kids had disappeared somewhere until it caught my attention that the house was way too quiet. I told Matt to go search for them. He discovered them in their bedroom. Mikelle had taken Jonah in with her and closed the bedroom door, then they went in the closet and closed that door and hid among their jackets that were hanging up and ate almost an entire pack of gum.

Later on, while Mikelle was on the toilet, she sneakily opened the bathroom door and let Jonah in (which she knows is a HUGE no-no) and then closed the door again. Then she let him play in the toilet water (quietly of course) that she had just peed and pooped in. This is apparently hilarious to children.

(this is exactly how we found them)

Also, this week I am THREE months pregnant. My how time flies with the third one.
