4th of July 2012

I was excited for this year's 4th of July because we had been in Colorado the last 3 years.  Also, my cousins, The Jacksons, were visiting and it has been a few years since we had seen them.  These are pictures from the 4th of July week and day.

On the 4th of July, we went to the Provo Freedom Festival.  I haven't been in years and I remember going a lot growing up so it was fun to go again with my kids and family.

Summer So Far...

I know this is a lot of pictures, but I've been behind on blogging and thought I'd just do one big summer post, and I'll probably do another one when summer is over, but we only have about 3 more weeks until school starts. Our summer has consisted of playing in the pool, sprinklers, riding bikes, and the sand table.  We've made trips to Seven Peaks, the Riverwoods splash pad, and Bean Museum, and Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Jonah's lego house.  I wish I could label everything.  He as a tv, a chair, kitchen, swimming pool, closet, and a trampoline; all the necessities of a house.

Our very first lemonade stand; who could say no to these guys.  They made about $8 and half was them begging family members to buy, the also half was all paid by one really nice guy and his kids.

At the Bean Musuem in Provo.  We had great timing, we were just about to leave when she came out with the snake.

Some neighbors the kids would play with a lot, they moved to Idaho, this was their last day here.

My dad went on a business trip to Southern California and took my mom.  They were able to stay with my Grandma for a few days to visit.

Our Baby Quail Adventure

We discovered that about 17 baby quails had fallen in my neighbor's window well and were trapped; so we did a rescue mission.  Too bad these little birds are kind of like lemmings because as soon as we got them out, they ran into the other neighbor's window well and were trapped because they had a grate on their's and we had to wait until they got home from work and could unlock it...which meant these little babies were in the window well trapped for several hours without their mom in about 90 degree weather.  We are pretty sure the mom took the two babies that didn't fall in and left because we never saw her again.  

*We did get the quails out of the second window well, but they died soon after :( I can say that we tried every effort though.  We borrowed some baby chicken feed from some neighbors to try and feed them and called animal control, but they said they wouldn't come out and get them.
